WILLY WONKA (must sing well): winner of the Chocolate Factory. He’s worldly and has an endearing quality, and very likeable and warm. Also, a bit eccentric but fun. He’s looking for someone to replace him so he can retire. He is really the Narrator of the show, as well.
CANDY MAN (must sing well): A candy vendor. He’s warm and loving. A friend to all the kids.
PHINEOUS TROUT (must sing): A “on-the-street” type news reporter.
CHARLIE BUCKET (must sing well): A nice, good-hearted kid that is honest, caring, and loving. He WINS a golden ticket.
MRS. BUCKET (must sing well): Charlie’s mom. Nice woman and caring.
MR. BUCKET (must sing well): Charlie’s dad. Nice guy and genuine.
GRANDMA JOSPHINE (must sing): Married to Joe. Argues with Joe all the time. Grandparent to Charlie.
GRANDMA GEORGINA (must sing): Married to George. Frustrated in her marriage. Grandparent to Charlie
GRANDPA GEORGE (must sing): He’s hard of hearing and always misconstrues words. Married to Georgina. Grandparent to Charlie.
GRANDPA JOE (must sing well): Married to Josephine. Grandparent to Charlie.
JAMES: A kid and a bully. A classmate of Charlie.
MATILDA: Classmate of Charlie.
SOPHIE: Classmate of Charlie
AUGUSTUS GLOOP (must sing well): A heavy kid who eats all the time, and has a German accent. He WINS a golden ticket.
MRS. GLOOP (must sing well): Has German accent. Mother of Augustus.
VERUCA SALT : Spoiled child. Sort of a ‘bad seed’ & “snotty” type. Self-centered, thoughtless, and bossy. Latina in nationality. She WINS a golden ticket.
MR. SALT: Father of Veruca. Latin also. He’s in the nut business and has his own establishment.
MIKE TEAVEE (must sing well): A spoiled “Los Angeles” kid of kid with a snobby kind of attitude. A ‘geek’ dude into Wii, cell phones, computers, and loves TV. He WINS a golden ticket.
MS. TEAVEE (must sing well): Mother of Mike. Very ‘up-scale’ and conscious of status. Fake personality.
VIOLET BEAUREGARDE: A spoiled child that has a southern accent. She WINS a golden ticket. Loves gum.
MS. BEAUREGARDE: Mother of Violet, and has a southern accent.
OOMPA-LOOMPAS: Helpers in the Chocolate Factory.
SQUIRRELS: More helpers in the Chocolate Factory
CHORUS OF COOKS: Various chefs, waiters, waitresses in the Gloop’s household.
