Set Construction Crew at the Warehouse this Weekend
Saturday, January 30 – 11am-3pm
Sunday, January 31 – 1pm-5pm – Nitty Gritty Day
We have the materials and the ideas from the production team so it is time to get started on these fun and colorful sets for Seussical! Everyone is welcome. Just wear appropriate clothing andshoes, bring your tools or painting gear if you have them, and come join the fun! It's such rewarding work to create things for the production and then more fun to see them onstage!Please bring your screw gun/drill if you have one!
 
For safety ~Please do not wear flip-flops or sandals to the warehouse!!

The warehouse is located at 850 E. San Carlos Avenue, Suite D.
From Parkside:
101 South
Exit at Holly Street
Make left at light which is Industrial
Make a left onto E. San Carlos Ave. the warehouse is towards the back to the right. The large roll up door will be open.
 
Nitty Gritty Day – January 31, 2010
Sunday,January 31 from 1pm-5pm isNitty Gritty Day. This is the day for all families to come to the warehouse and work on projects for the show. There will be set construction, painting, costuming, publicity, props and more! The hours spent at Nitty Gritty Day count towards your 25 hours of required volunteer hours. Be sure to sign in to get credit!
 
We always need donations of paint brushes and rollers, and need folks to bring their own tools, especially cordless drills with screw bits!
 
Some things to remember: wear appropriate shoes for working in the warehouse: closed-toe, no heels, sandals, flip-flops. even in the costume/prop area!! We will also be making costumes, finding props for the show, bundling flyers for school backpacks and more.
 
Order Forms
All order forms are due onJanuary 30. Please be sure to turn them into the “Returned Forms” box in the “Order Forms” folder. You can give them to Dwayne or Danielle as well, but please don’t give them to the director, choreographer or vocal director as they have too many things to worry about and I don’t want to bother them with the forms.
 
Rehearse At Home
Please be sure that your actor is practicing at home. They should be practicing the words to the songs even without music. Also, they should be reviewing the dance steps and blocking they have learned. We are doing an Act 1 Run Through next weekend so it is very important they remember what they are doing. We will have a rehearsal CD with all the music for them next weekend. This way, they can practice with the music at home! Headshots
Headshots will be taken on February 7. The photographer will be at Parkside. Actors will be called beginning at noon. Look for specific call times in the next weeks Seuss News. You can find a headshot order form on the website forms page. The form must accompany the actor if they are ordering a headshot regardless if they are ordering extra photos or not.
 
Family Roster
Some of the parents have been asking me if I could come up with a list for everyone so we had parent’s names and info for carpool. If youdon’t want to be included on this list, please let me know via email by Monday, February 1. I will send the list out via email on Tuesday.
