Load-In Day – Saturday, October 29
Load-In Day is when we take the amazing sets to Cañada's Theater.
We will meet at the eTc warehouse at 8:30 am and load a rental truck (and some personal vehicles too) with all the things we need at the theater.  We are planning to be at Cañada by 10:00 am.  We only have the theater space until 6:00pm and we have to install the flying (hanging) set pieces as well as build/assemble the platform structure and the farmhouse.   Please bring gloves and drill/screwguns.
 
We will definitely need quite a few people to make this happen.  I have recruited some dads from previous shows because so many of our current dads are in the cast of Annie Warbucks.  But we will need LOTS of help... YOUR HELP!  Come for the whole day, or even just half the day - it all makes a big difference in our readiness for the cast to start their rehearsals on Sunday!

Easel Needed
The Raffle Committee needs an easel to prop up their display during the show. If you have an easel we can borrow, please bring it to the theater and give it to Dwayne to give to the Raffle Committee.
 
Halloween at the Theater         
To help the kids celebrate Halloween a little, some parents have volunteered to coordinate some activities including some trick or treating. We are asking all parents to bring 1 bag of candy to the theater on Sunday and Harini Krishnan or Sherri Lipson will collect it from you and have it ready for the kids on Monday. Thanks to the parents and chaperones who are making this happen. If you would like to help please speak with Harini (Janani’s mom), Sherri (Jonah and Adam’s mom) or Marite Barboza (Dani’s mom).

There is a bit more work to be done this Saturday and then Sunday will be preparing for next weekend's Load-In.  Please come help with the final push!  It is so rewarding to see the finished sets and how they enhance the actors' performances!  And you get to be proud of the pieces you worked on!!

Chaperone Committee  - Time to sign up for chaperone duty!  A poster with available slots will be up at College Park.  Signing up for at least one of the tech rehearsals in addition to the performance slots is suggested to get an idea of the flow of the show and which groups are needed during which scenes. 

House Duties - A sign up sheet will be available this weekend at rehearsal to sign up for House Duties. We need help at all shows with Concession Sales, Ushering, Flowers and Raffle Sales. Please sign up for as many shifts as you can!
 
Stage/Tech Crew - Back stage is definitely the place to be!  We need volunteers to work stage crew.  This includes crew to move sets, mic mommies and spotlight operators.  There will be a sign up sheet at rehearsal this weekend.  Please sign up and specify if you would like to be a mic mommy or spotlight person.  Crew is loads of fun and a great way to put in your hours!!
 
Box Office Volunteers Needed
We are in need of a 2 of people to assist in the box office before the shows. This is an easy job to do - once you drop off your actor back stage, just come up to the ticket office and helping to sell tickets until the show starts (we usually have one person who stay behind and handles late comers.) We will rotate different people in on different days so you will definitely get to see your actor perform. No technical skills required! Will train!!

Nitty Gritty Day – October 16
All Hands On Deck!!!
There is a lot of work to be done. Following are the general assignments that will be happening that day. Regardless of what committee you are on, you should come to the warehouse at 1pm (or as soon as you drop off your actor).
 
Publicity – Helping distribute posters around the community from Menlo Park to San Bruno as well as bundling the flyers for school distribution.
 
Props – Helping gather props for the show
 
Costumes – Helping with the various costume projects. Sewing skills are not necessary. There will be plenty of crafting projects. Bring your sewing machine if you have one! Also bring sharp scissors if you have them too!
 
Set Construction – Parents who can help with building the sets, detail painting and rigging the sets for hanging. Bring your own drill/screw gun if you have one!
 
ALL FAMILIES MUST BE REPRESENTED! PLEASE SIGN IN TO BE SURE YOUR FAMILY GETS CREDIT.

We will be building and painting awesome set pieces for this amazing production... so bring your power tools, brushes, gloves, etc. and wear clothing that can get dirty. Appropriate SHOES must be worn. Flat, closed-toe shoes, no flip-flops, sandals or heels please! Oh, and please remember to sign in and out to get credit for your volunteer hours!! Sign up sheet will be on a clipboard near the sink, right by the front door.

For those of you who have been waiting to paint - now is the time to come and join the fun! We have painting projects in a variety of skill levels, including basic/no skills. We also have a few building projects, so if that is your interest, please bring your drill/driver and come on over! It is so much fun to see the sets evolve and then to be proud of your small (or large) contribution when you see them on stage! There are only three weekends left to finish everything... so please help all you can!

Our general working hours coincide with the rehearsal hours.

Sundays 1pm - 5:30 pm

Remember, e.T.c. can always use donations. For warehouse use: Lumber - Paint - Paint Brushes - rollers/covers - Tools (cordless drills, electric saws).

Raffle Prizes
Remember, each family needs to contribute one raffle prize. You don’t need to buy the prize, it is as simple as going to any local business you frequent and asking for a gift certificate. We have had prizes such as BJ’s Gift Certificates, Oil Change Gift Certificates, bottles of wine, iPod Nano, and stuffed animals pertaining to the show. Anything helps! For those of you who have been waiting to paint - now is the time to come and join the fun! We have painting projects in a variety of skill levels, including basic/no skills. We also have a few building projects, so if that is your interest, please bring your drill/driver and come on over! It is so much fun to see the sets evolve and then to be proud of your small (or large) contribution when you see them on stage! There are only three weekends left to finish everything... so please help all you can!

Time to sign up for chaperone duty!  A poster with available slots will be up at College Park.  Signing up for at least one of the tech rehearsals in addition to the performance slots is suggested to get an idea of the flow of the show and which groups are needed during which scenes.

A sign up sheet will be available this weekend at rehearsal to sign up for House Duties. We need help at all shows with Concession Sales, Ushering, Flowers and Raffle Sales. Please sign up for as many shifts as you can!
 
Stage/Tech Crew Committee Sign Ups
Back stage is definitely the place to be!  We need volunteers to work stage crew.  This includes crew to move sets, mic mommies and spotlight operators.  There will be a sign up sheet at rehearsal this weekend.  Please sign up and specify if you would like to be a mic mommy or spotlight person.  Crew is loads of fun and a great way to put in your hours!!!

Tickets will be going on sale starting this weekend (September 30th). All seating is assigned, so the earlier you order the wider choice you’ll have and the better your seats will be!
 
EASIEST WAY TO ORDER TICKETS IS ONLINE http://www.bayareaetc.org/tickets.html If you order your tickets online you can pick your own seats and print your own tickets! Ticket prices are: Adults $15, Seniors $12, Students $10. There is also a $1 service charge per ticket regardless of how you purchase your tickets – online, at the door, or through advance ticket sales. Make sure to include your cast member's name in order for to receive credit (remember we ask every family to sell at least 25 tickets.)

Vouchers: You can purchase 10 ticket vouchers for $130 (a $30 dollar savings) and each voucher is good for one reserved seat/ticket to any of the Annie Warbucks shows. These are great for family, friends, and teachers. You don't need to worry about what show they want to attend — give (or sell) them a voucher and they can email tickets@bayareaetc.org or go to the box office on the day of the show and get seats for any show! Voucher order forms were in your folders last weekend and are also available on the web site.
 
Proud Parent Pass
Proud Parent Pass: A great way to see every show for one low price -- $50! These are only available for parents of the actors and each parent needs to have their own pass (they are not transferable). Seats are assigned the day of the show, so come to the box office early on show days to obtain a reserved seat. Proud Parent Pass order forms were in your folders last weekend and are also available on the web site.

Headshots
Headshots will be taken on Sunday, October 2. The photographer will be at College Park at noon for about 45 minutes. Download the order form at www.bayareaetc.org in the forms section of Annie Warbucks. Checks should be made payable to Theresa Halton Photography. If you miss the photo day, you can bring a 4 x 6 portrait black and white photo of your actor and give it to Dwayne.
 
Preview Shows
Now that you know which cast your actor is in, it is time to start reserving your seats for the Preview Shows. This is a great opportunity for your child’s school class to see live, affordable theater! To make our lobby raffle successful during the show, we need to collect great prizes. The raffle committee is hard at work collecting awesome prizes – including 4 park hopper ticket for Disneyland/California Adventures! We are asking for help from each family. Each family needs to contribute one raffle prize. You don’t need to buy the prize, it is as simple as going to any local business you frequent and asking for a gift certificate. We have had prizes such as BJ’s Gift Certificates, Oil Change Gift Certificates, bottles of wine, iPod Nano, and stuffed animals pertaining to the show. Anything helps! The Set Construction Committee will be working at the e.T.c. warehouse every weekend - 850 East San Carlos Ave, San Carlos, CA 94070 . We will be building and painting awesome set pieces for this amazing production... so bring your power tools, brushes, gloves, etc. and wear clothing that can get dirty. Appropriate SHOES must be worn. Flat, closed-toe shoes, no flip-flops, sandals or heels please! Oh, and please remember to sign in and out to get credit for your volunteer hours!! Sign up sheet will be on a clipboard near the sink, right by the front door.

October will be a big month! Actors will be called for longer periods of time. Saturdays will begin at 10am and will end at 4pm. Act I Script Given Out This Week!
Please bring a 3 Ring Binder to rehearsal on Saturday. Your actor will be receiving their script and it is best if the script goes directly into a binder. Don’t forget to bring the binger on Saturday!
 
CONFLICTS & Missing Rehearsal
At the time of auditions, you turned in your actor's conflict calendar. Danielle and the production director, Miss Christie, have complied a Master Conflict Calendar with everyone's conflicts. Your actor is excused for all conflicts listed at auditions but UNEXCUSED for ANY OTHER ABSENCES. If your actor is an unexcused no-show, you will receive a phone call and ROLES WILL BE REDUCED at the discretion of the Artistic Team in the best interest of the show. It cannot be emphasized enough - it is TREMENDOUSLY IMPORTANT for ALL ACTORS to ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS!!!
 
NO ABSENCES ALLOWED in October unless previously noted in your conflict calendar. Your actor will practice so hard that he/she'll want to enjoy every minute on stage!
 
However, if your actor is sick - DO NOT SEND THEM TO REHEARSAL. If someone comes to rehearsal sick, they could infect everyone in the cast and that just wouldn't be good. In the case of illness email anniewarbucks@bayareaetc.org as soon as possible.
 
Calling all Dads and Moms!
One scene in Act Two needs YOU - no experience required. Tech crew parents strongly encouraged. Rehearsals will be Monday nights in mid-late Oct. No audition necessary! Get your 'acting' feet wet and share the stage with your child. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for family fun. Interested parents should reply to this e-mail.
