PRODUCTION DETAILS FOR NARNIA
Performances will be at the Cañada College Main Stage Theater.
Narnia is the beautifully told tale of four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, who must leave the danger of London’s bombing raids during war torn WWII to live in the country with an eccentric professor. It is in his magnificent mansion during a game of hide-and-seek that they first discover a portal into a new, magical and mystical land of beauty ~ Narnia.
As we follow these adventurous youths along their wondrous journey through the wardrobe and into the forest, we will see them meet many different woodland creatures along the pathway, such as Mr. Tumnus (a faun), Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, and a host of other gentle and beautiful animals. But there is danger as well - Narnia, that most beautiful of lands, has been frozen in time, as the wicked White Witch has claimed the throne of Narnia for her own, and plunged this magical land into a one-hundred-year winter! She and her evil underlings will stop at nothing to continue her rule and quest for ultimate power!
Edmund, a contrary little boy, accidentally encounters the "Queen" and, thinking her nice, is manipulated by promises of power and sweet treats into agreeing to betray his family, unaware that he and his siblings stand to fulfill an ancient prophecy that says the rightful king of Narnia will return, and the Witch's evil hold will be broken, and the children are they key to saving the land. While the wicked White Witch plots to stop them, the children will encounter the true king of Narnia, Aslan. What lies ahead is greater than any of them could have imagined!
